At the very early youth basketball levels,
basketball training is not really a relevant subject. Any type of strength training for prepubescent players is not recommended.
If you happen to fall into that category, this section really isn't for you...yet!
However, as youth
basketball players advance, and begin more competitive play, and enter their
adolescent years; basketball training should become a necessary part of any basketball
player's development plan. Thus, we offer this section for those players.
Basketball players today train much
differently than they did in the past. The old school train of thought was that
any muscle development would hinder a basketball players agility, flexibility,
and shooting touch.
Today's basketball players are different. A
basketball player today must be a combination of speed, agility, and strength
and must train accordingly.
