This basketball offense drill teaches post players how to work for low-post position, receive an entry pass, and then how to read the defender and make the appropriate move to the basket for the score.
This is a simple play that can work at any level but is especially easy to teach younger players. The basic concept is to get a solid screen from the high post after the point guard makes a pass to the wing. If executed well, it can result in a layup and at the very least it can force a switch putting a guard defender on your post player.
The speed dribble is mostly used in fast-break situations when the ball-handler is in the open court and trying to get up the court as fast as possible. While it is not a complex dribbling variation, be sure to practice it only after the basic dribble skill has been mastered.
